You know this feeling all too well. The moment you become flush with embarrassment, outwardly showing the world just how you feel.
It's when the body betrays our mind. It's when we blush.
Often times we may not understand where the response is coming from...it catches us off guard. And other times, we know exactly why we are experiencing the emotional and physical response in a given situation. At blush my approach is about helping you work through the shame hiding behind the emotion, with the ultimate hope of living a life full of self-acceptance and self-love.
A life where blushing has never been more beautiful.
Welcome! I'm so glad you've landed at blush. A safe place to focus on inner beauty.
In short, I am a therapist for women. My background and training originates from a genuine interest in social justice issues. I am passionate about working cross-culturally, and exploring gender-related topics which impact our personal and professional relationships. I care deeply about allowing our bodies to help heal our minds through sleep, exercise and nutrition, which is why I incorporate these elements into therapy. Mostly, I care about why you're reading this, and would love to hear more about what brings you here. If you're interested in continuing this conversation, please reach out by clicking here.

The term "counseling" may bring up feelings of anxiety, embarrassment or even shame. However, I believe one of the bravest decisions you can make is to set aside time and energy to focus on areas of your life causing hardship. That said, there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to therapy. We will work closely together on identifying a method that works well with your personality type, goals and time-frame. I value relationship building with individuals to really get at the core of what's going on. This is often referred to as "depth-work." It's through this process we gain a deeper understanding of who we are, where we came from, and how to best navigate moving forward. And if for some reason we are not an ideal fit for one another, chances are I can point you in the direction of someone who is better suited to your needs. All you have to do is take that daring first step, and start the conversation.
I charge $120 for each 50 minute session. I also have a few sliding scale slots available to those who are seeking therapy and are held back by finances. If this is you, let's have an open conversation about this. I strongly feel that everyone should have access to counseling services. If my sliding scale slots are full at the time you are contacting me, I may be able to help provide you with some resources and referral sources to help.
In terms of insurance, I am an out-of-network provider which means I do not work with insurance companies. If needed, I am able to provide you with a reimbursement receipt should your insurance company accept my counseling services. This is a question to ask them directly, as each policy is different.
